Nomad Nursery is the plant-tastic collab between Jackson Bennett and myself. Together we run a plant nursery nestled in beautiful Carey Gully, South Australia.
Jackson and I noticed that the Adelaide region has a lack of suppliers that grow veggie/herb seedlings using organic permaculture principles and use heirloom Australian seed. We decided to change that by starting our own nursery.
4-yearly drop offs of our heirloom seedlings and plants that are grown with organic inputs.
A range of 3 tiers/sizes to match your growing area as to what suits.
A mix of seasonal veggie/herb/edible perennial plants delivered direct to your door!
Suitable for that season and good to grow across the Greater Adelaide bioregion.
Meet Jackson Bennett and Kym Ormond
Jackson and I interestingly both got our love of food from the kitchen world and started out our careers working as chefs. Over the years we both yearned for a different lifestyle outside of stainless steel kitchens and overtime we both found farming in our own way.
As passionate advocates for sustainable food practices, we’ve noticed how difficult it can be for growers in Adelaide to source organically grown heirloom seedlings. Recognizing this gap, we figured it’s the perfect time to sprout a new nursery and give those seedlings and other plants a proper home.

Here at Nomad we have a Community Supported Nursery or CSN model for our seedlings. A CSN is a play on the “Community Supported Agriculture” term, which is essentially paying in advance for your produce directly to the farm. In this case instead of a farm, it’s a plant nursery.
